Viking-Era Battle Axe Inspired by Norse Woodsmen

The Danish War Axe is a formidable blend of tool and weapon, rooted in the Viking Age when everyday tools often doubled as instruments of war. Originally crafted for felling trees and clearing land, this axe found equal purpose on the battlefield, wielded by Norse warriors who turned woodcutting skill into fearsome combat prowess.

With its long shaft and broad, bearded blade, the Danish axe became a symbol of strength, simplicity, and brutal efficiency. This faithful reproduction captures the essence of those legendary weapons, offering both historical accuracy and functional design.

Whether you're a historical reenactor, Viking enthusiast, or collector of medieval weaponry, this axe embodies the rugged spirit of the North. Equally suited for display or practice, the Danish War Axe evokes the image of a woodsman-turned-warrior—ready to defend home and kin with a single, decisive swing.

Features:

  • Authentic Viking-era design
  • Broad steel blade with iconic "bearded" edge
  • Long wooden handle for reach and power
  • Ideal for historical display, LARP, or stage combat

Bring home a piece of Viking heritage with this battle-ready tribute to the warrior woodsmen of Scandinavia.

"This axe was way bigger than I thought but it looks rather nice and handling it isn't too difficult (using it is definitely a shoulder workout). I like the leather axe sheath that comes with it. "

"Looks great but needed some help. The hole for the single 5/16" brass rivet was too big and caused the axe head to wobble. After removing the rivet it was found that the hole through the handle was not aligned so the drilling was repeated until it went through. I replaced the rivet with steel and filled the void with JB weld, then added a second rivet for good measure. No more wobble."

Response: Sorry about the issue. We would have happily replaced that for you but It's good to hear that with your skills you were able to get it to work out in the end.
