The axe is one of the oldest tools of man. It is also one of his favourite weapons. Axes were made of stone, bronze, iron and steel. The axe was favoured because it acted as a practical tool of the woods as well as a vicous weapon on the battle field. This ornate axe has an overall length of 21 1/4 " with a solid metal head.
