Citadel Dragon Katana

The Citadel Dragon Katana is a masterwork of balance, artistry, and craftsmanship—hand forged in Citadel’s small custom shop in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Known for creating fully handmade, one-of-a-kind blades, Citadel’s smiths craft each sword individually from start to finish, ensuring every piece is unique. Limited to just 100 swords worldwide, each is signed and numbered by the smith on the nakago (tang) and comes with a matching certificate of authenticity. Like the mythic dragon it represents, this katana is both beautiful and formidable—a weapon of elegance and power.

A Sword Forged in Water and Steel

The Dragon Katana features a graceful water dragon theme, with a tsuba depicting dragons amid crashing waves (nami) and fuchi and kashira adorned with turbulent water motifs. The blade is hand forged from DNH7 high carbon steel and differentially hardened using the traditional clay-tempering method, giving the edge exceptional sharpness while maintaining a resilient spine. Each blade is hand polished with traditional stones and powders to achieve an authentic Japanese finish. A full-length bo-hi (fuller) lightens the blade while maintaining perfect balance, continuing seamlessly through the habaki and into the tang—a rare mark of master-level swordsmithing. The copper habaki is hand-forged to match the curvature of the bo-hi, showcasing Citadel’s exceptional attention to detail.

Crafted for Collectors and Samurai Enthusiasts

The tsuka (handle) is hand-carved for each individual sword to ensure a perfect friction fit and wrapped with dark blue Japanese silk ito over a full same-gawa (ray skin) wrap. The saya (scabbard) is equally meticulous, lacquered in a deep ocean blue with a ray skin section reinforcing the mouth. Each saya is custom carved for its blade, ensuring a smooth and secure fit.
