Ryujin Katana

Ryujin, also known as Ryu-o, is the Dragon King, sea god, and master of serpents in Japanese mythology. He holds great power over the oceans, controlling the tides with his magic jewels. Ryujin embodies both the danger and the abundance of the sea, a force deeply significant to an island nation like ancient Japan. Often, Ryujin is associated with, or seen as the same deity as Owatatsumi-no-kami, another water god in Shinto belief, more commonly known as Watatsumi. In addition to his mastery over the waters, Ryujin is believed to possess profound knowledge of medicine and is revered as the bringer of rain and thunder. As the patron god, or ujigami, of several prominent Japanese clans, Ryujin holds a vital place in the spiritual life of Japan, representing both the sea’s nurturing gifts and its unpredictable might.

CAS 40th Anniversary Edition

The 2025-year marks C.A.S. Iberia’s 40th year of being in the cutlery industry. To celebrate this major milestone and what is yet to come, our Dragon King family created our 40th Anniversary Katana. The 39 ¼” forged T10 blade features a wispy hamon and bo-hi. The silver Ryujin themed tsuba, fuchi and kashira are contrasted by the lacquered black saya, sageo and tsuka-ito over white same. This black and silver motif will be produced in limited quantities.
