Date Masamune was a Japanese warrior during the Azuchi-Momoyama and early part of the Edo Period. He is considered one of the greatest daimyo of northern Japan. Succeeding his father as leader of the Date Clan at the age of 17, he defeated most of his rivals and significantly expanded his territories.
Our Japanese kabuto & menpo are superbly constructed and beautifully detailed. This model replicates the helm of the great Date Masamune.The museum-quality reproductions of these archaeological treasures have been hand crafted by the metalsmiths of Hanwei with exacting attention to detail including real horse hair, cotton thread and gold plated accents. This helmet is fully wearable and supplied with a wooden display stand.
