17th-century Spain

Through the cobbled streets and sprawling landscapes of 17th-century Spain, the taza rapier gleams with a deadly elegance, its intricate hilt a masterpiece of artistry and lethal precision. The bustling markets and grand plazas fall silent in awe as the swordsman strides by, a figure of formidable grace and unwavering purpose. The air is thick with the scent of oranges and the distant strains of flamenco guitar, merging with the tales of duels fought and honor defended. Each village and city whispers of the rapier's swift justice, a weapon that dances through the air with the finesse of a matador and the power of a tempest. The road ahead winds through castles and countryside, filled with intrigue, danger, and the promise of adventure. With every step, the legacy of the Spanish swordsman unfurls, a guardian of tradition and a seeker of glory, whose very presence commands respect and fear across the realm.

"a la Taza" Cup Hilt Rapier

Long extolled as the pinnacle of rapier design, the “Spanish” or “Cup-Hilt” rapier undoubtedly combined style and function very effectively in 17th century Europe. The very best of these weapons featured beautifully pierced cups and pommels and Paul Chen of Hanwei has replicated these to perfection and combined them with an elegantly tapered high-carbon steel blade in our “Taza” rapier (the name comes from the French, who called this style “a la Taza”). A stitched leather-covered scabbard with metal throat and chape is included.
