These starter katana make no claims of historical accuracy but have tempered high carbon steel blades, double pinned handles through a traditional length tang for the beginner. The traditional pattern katana has a Japanese floral theme printed on the high gloss finished saya. If you want a sword for soft target cutting that won't cut into your wallet this is one of the most economical functional katana on the market.

Built For Your Budget

With budget in mind this piece uses a non-laminated 1045 high carbon steel which is a little softer than the higher end katana but is still suitable for soft targets like the back yard warrior's favourite “pool noodles”, single rolls of tatami or straw beach mats. This piece is far from traditional but is a very cost effective way to begin learning the art of the samurai sword.
