Hand-Forged Folded Steel Blade

The blade is hand-forged and folded from K120C powder steel, producing an elegant grain pattern while ensuring strength and durability. Featuring a medium-length chu-kissaki, the blade arrives sharp and ready for martial artists practicing tameshigiri test cutting. This construction, carried out under the direction of Paul Chen at Hanwei, reflects a balance of art and battle-readiness.

Exquisite Detailing Throughout

The saya is deeply lacquered and decorated with inlaid brass cherry blossoms (sakura), while the tsuka is wrapped over authentic ray skin with premium Japanese cotton tsuka-ito and sageo. The blackened and bronzed iron tsuba, highlighted with gold and silver, depicts a battle scene, while the fuchi and kashira feature brass detailing. Polished buffalo horn accents the kojiri, koiguchi, and kurikata, and the one-piece brass habaki completes the sword’s elegant fittings. Every detail showcases Hanwei’s commitment to traditional design and fine artistry.
