Hanwei Dark Sentinel Sword

Blending the slashing power of the Japanese katana with the thrusting precision of European dueling swords, the Dark Sentinel is a unique hybrid blade that delivers both speed and strength. Agile enough for single-hand fencing yet capable of unleashing formidable two-handed cuts, this sword offers versatility rarely found in a functional weapon at this price point.

A Fusion of East and West

Designed to combine the best attributes of two great sword traditions, the Dark Sentinel channels the curved efficiency of the samurai sword while retaining the straight-line agility of European blades. Whether imagined defending castle gates or used in martial training, its balance and responsiveness make it a formidable partner for both practice and display.

Functional Craftsmanship

Crafted by Hanwei, this sword features a hand-forged high-carbon steel blade for strength and resilience. The grip is wrapped in studded leather for secure handling and striking visual appeal. The Dark Sentinel is not just a decorative piece—it is a fully functional sword designed for collectors, martial artists, and enthusiasts who appreciate a well-balanced fusion weapon. Affordable yet formidable, it delivers the bite of a warrior’s blade without straining the treasury.

"I'm no expert but I've been sharpening and collecting for thirty years this two handed beauty is just a joy to hold and cut with, However the tip is too sharp and too thin, I have thick shag style carpeting with under-padding in my apartment so I figured that it would be safe to set the sword tip down on the carpet for about five seconds to examine the handle , the tip bent under it's own weight so the tip of this sword is delicate !"
