Developed by Tinker Pearce

Tinker Pearce has developed these single hand swords to satisfy the need of every Western Martial Arts practitioner and sword enthusiast, to have a matching set of sharp and blunted swords for cutting and safe training practice. The swords meet Tinker's exacting quality requirements and are built in much the same way as his custom pieces. Each blade is forged from 5160 Spring Steel, Marquenched to the desired hardness of 50-53 Hrc while the tang is drawn back to the low 30s Hrc. The very end of the tang is threaded to fit an allen nut recessed into the pommel which allows for dimantling of the hilt assembly for inspection or to exchange blades if needed.

"The Reliks team did a fine job of boxing up and shipping the sword, but the product itself is disappointing in many ways. For a Tinker-designed sword, I would have thought it would be better balanced. It is not; it is in fact a rather dedicated chopper that happens to also be pointy. The PoB is very far forward from the guard and so subtle and nimble this sword is not. Using it with no gauntlet it also feels that the handle is too long, and due the weight and PoB it really wants to slide away when you swing. The gap between blade and guard is very large and very ugly. Looks like there are bits of leather and lot of glue filling the gap. The scabbard is more of a loose blade guard. It will not stay on at all if the blade goes beyond horizontal. There is absolutely no blade retention from the scabbard. The blade itself is very nice. If you are a burly person with large hands and bulging arm muscles who wants a devastating chopping sword, this one comes quite sharp and well formed. Heat treat remains to be seen as I haven't hit anything tougher than cardboard with it. For myself, my Tinker Long Sword is more manageable in one hand than this one, and is amazing with two hands, and tight-fitting guard, and just the perfect size grip for my hands."

"The sword handles well, and the construction is solid after a month of hard drilling. The factory edge leaves something to be desired, and the handle wrap came off. Easy fixes, and zero real conplaints about the sword. Great sword for new collectors or HEMA types."

"excellent . I was very impressed with the purchase. I have yet to use the sword for cutting. But I think it will do very nicely"
