This Viking Sword is fashioned after an Eighth Century Design. Basic armament of the Viking comprised of sword or axe, spear and shield, while most men had a short knife attached to their belts. Of these weapons, the sword was the most popular and this piece was considered with a certain respect, specially in the case of old swords that had been handed down from generation to generation or looted from burial mounds. This beautiful sword has a highly polished blade with fuller, dark hardwood handle and with polished solid steel pommel and cross guard. It has a full tang that is peened over top of the pommel. A wood scabbard wrapped in leather with steel accents is included.

"shaking the sword you hear a rattling soundfrom the pommel, nothing big it moves about 2 millimeter's left and right, blade wasnt as sharp as i thought it would be. other than that im very happy with the purchase."

Response: This will most likely correct it self once it climatizes. During season changes the handles can contract and expand causing a "loosness" or "tighness". It is very common and expected with peened swords.
