Military Issue Russian / Cossack Kindjal

The Russian Kindjal is a military issue version which served the Russian armed forces well into the mid-20th century. This curved, double-edge blade was perfect as a close combat weapon. It originated in the Georgian Republic of Russia, but was best known as a Cossack weapon. The blade measuring 17 1/4" long is hand forged from a high carbon steel billet at 1 3/8" wide. The full slab tang is equip with real wood scales making this impressive short sword or long dagger measure nearly 2 feet in length. Weighing in at only 1 lb. 6 oz. made this kindjal a very easy to wield, effective piece of weaponry. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts this piece also includes a scabbard.

Cossack Fighting Dagger

The origins of the Cossacks has had many theories and has been under heavy debate for centuries but one thing that can be agreed upon by modern scholars is these peoples of the prairies and woods who always needed "a live frontier" they were very tough fighters. The Cossacks would all serve the military for a mandatory 20 years. Cossacks were highly admired for their equestrian skills by the early Russian military. Many were hired as cavalry by Russian and Ukrainian warlords as well as employed as personal body guards.

"It's an excellent Shortsword, however the sheath doesn't grip at all. Have dropped the sword by tilting the wrong way a few times. Other than that the sword itself is excellent"

"Good quality for the price point. Tested the Kindjal on a large tough zuccini and in the words of Doug Marcaida, "the kindgal will kill!""
