This authentic military issue kukri is produced by Windlass Steelcrafts, the official government contractor for Gurkha Regiments in India. Hand forged from high carbon steel, each blade is differentially heat-treated for a Rockwell hardness of approximately 45 at the spine and 53 at the edge. The full tang design ensures unmatched strength, while the 1/4" thick blade features deep fullers and the traditional religious notch — a mark of reverence and craftsmanship. Throughout history, Gurkhas have wielded this weapon with devastating effectiveness in campaigns across the world, from WWI and WWII to the Falklands conflict.

The Genuine Gurkha Kukri features a traditional native hardwood handle with a metal butt plate and comes factory sharpened. Each knife includes a top-grade leather scabbard fitted with two accessory knives — the chakmak (a honing tool for maintaining the edge and for use as a fire striker) and the karda (a small utility blade ideal for skinning, carving, and precision tasks). The scabbard’s design allows the kukri to be drawn safely and efficiently despite the blade’s deep curvature, accounting for humidity and wood swelling in tropical conditions. This is the only kukri on the market that includes a copy of the official government contract, ordinance drawing, and specification sheet — authenticating its true military lineage.
