By the 15th Century, armor had become so well developed that it was almost impervious to a sword cut and even a thrust. This heavy mace, which evolved from man's oldest weapon, the club, could make short work of that armor. With a few full sound blows the best of plate would be so damaged that the wearer's movement would be greatly impaired, and that lead quickly to defeat. This mace has 8 flanges and are made from steel that has been blackened to a deep luster. The bottom of the shaft is wrapped in black leather for an improved grip. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. This piece weighs 4 lbs. and is 24" overall.

"I love this mace! It is very well made. All my friends are envious. Lightening-fast delivery too! Reliks is now my favourite store"

R - Verified Buyer

"One of the most beautiful acquisitions I made so far. The flange of the mace has been reproduced with great attention to details. The shaft does not look painted but rather like blued steel. A similar mass of arm, although more decorated, can be seen in the hand of Alphonse 1er duc D’Este on a paining dating around 1513."

H - Verified Buyer

"shaft is weak."

R - Verified Buyer

"Extremely sturdy and feels good in hand. Paint could be better. Rusts easily. "

Response: it is high carbon and should be protected with oil or wax.

A - Verified Buyer

"Very solid and well-made, as well as nice to look at. No complaints!"
