Bastard Sword by Windlass Steelcrafts
The large 7" handle is wrapped in soft black leather.
The wide blade is forged of high carbon steel.
This massive broad sword could have easily been used at the Battle of Bosworth.
The pommel and cross guard have been antiqued with a darkened, aged finish.
With a steel separator ring, this Bastard Sword can easily accommodate two hands.
The pommel is traditionally peened onto the tang by "mushrooming" the end of the tang istself as the originals were made.
The grip is made from hardwood wrapped in leather with a metal ring in the middle and ferrule at the guard.
The guard on the Classic Bastard Sword curves or sweeps forward and also tapers to the point of the quillions reducing it's weight.
The guard has a forward curve towards the the tip and the ricasso area of the blade.
