Twisted-Hilt Claymore

This is based on an original claymore that was sold in 1953 for $12,000. The original was an awe inspiring weapon. The claymore was in use for many years, and some report that it was in use as late as the Rebellion of 1745. The grip is spiral carved wood, the pommel is brass, as is the guard. (Brass was very common in Scotland, as it was impervious to the wet weather, and steel will rust very quickly). This is a most impressive and attractive sword and a welcome addition to any collection of weapons of Scottish heirlooms. CIRCA 1600 This functional sword measures Overall-56 inches * Blade-41 3/8 inches long, 2 inches wide * Wt.-5 lbs. 4 oz.
