Notice for Our U.S. Customers: Tariff Impact and Shipping Options

Until recently, if you ordered something online from outside the United States, most small packages (valued at $800 or less) could come in without any import fees. This was called the “de minimis” exemption.

What Changed?

As of August, 2025, the U.S. government removed that rule for all countries. Now, every imported package, no matter how small, will have duties and the additional tariffs added when it enters the U.S.

What Does This Mean for You?

Even small orders under $800 can now be more expensive due to these import and tariff charges. These fees depend on the product origin and product type. Reliks does not charge these duties/tariffs. These fees/charges will be collected by the courier company before delivery of your order. We suggest you look into these charges before placing your order. Shipping may take a bit longer because every package now has to be pre paid on these charges before entering the U.S.

Ongoing changes to U.S. trade policy have led to significant increases in import tariffs on a wide range of products, affecting goods from multiple countries of origin. These changes are evolving rapidly and may impact the import process for most orders shipped from Canada to the United States.

To help minimize this impact, we’ve partnered with a U.S.-based distributor who carries many of the same Hanwei, GDFB and Dragon King products. When available, we can fulfill orders directly from their U.S. warehouse, which means the tariffs have already been handled and no additional import charges apply for American customers.

Please note: our website displays real-time Canadian inventory, so while an item may appear in stock online, it may not always be available for U.S. drop shipping. If avoiding tariffs is important for your order, we encourage you to contact us before purchasing, and we’ll gladly check U.S. availability on your behalf.

If a parcel is refused at delivery, the customer will be responsible for the following:

  • A 20% restocking fee
  • Any return shipping charges
  • Any fees, tariffs, or duties incurred during the return process

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate these shifting trade conditions.
