Thor the “hammer wielding” god, son of Odin is know for his incredible strength and with a thunderous crack of his hammer he commands lighting to descend upon those that oppose him. Stories of Thor, god of thunder and lightning were popularized during the migration period could possibly have historical roots. Odin, Thor and Loki, the most popular gods in Norse mythology coupled with historical artifacts show a possible link to the history books. Could Thor have walked upon earth? What would he have carried? Mjölnir? What would Thor's hammer really have looked like? Research shows us that Thor's hammer would have taken the traits of other artifacts from the period in terms of size, shape and detail. We are happy to introduce this unique historical version of Thor's mighty hammer as it would have been wielded by Thor during this age. This hammer boasts a genuine hand stained wood shaft with brass rivets and contoured, suede wrap grip. Parts and head are forged of solid metal and given an aged look. This one of a kind piece includes its own custom designed complementary display.
