The Pecoraro Sabre features a full-cupped perforated guard, ridged for reinforcement at the thinner pommel end of the "D".
The hilt designs developed by Radaelli and Pecoraro have been reproduced in the Hanwei fencing sabers, with stainless steel guards and wire-wrapped sharkskin-pattern grips.
The high-carbon steel blade from Hanwei by Paul Chen is very flexible towards the tip.
