Replicated from an original in the collection of the Royal Armouries in England, our Mortuary Hilt Sword is a classic example of a cavalry or dragoon officer’s sword of the 17th century English Civil War period.
The leather handle wrap terminates in silver wire “Turks Head” knots.
The lozenge-section double-edged blade is partially fullered and bears the swordmaker’s mark “1414”, the derivation of which has been lost in time.
