This sword is named for the battle in which the French were finally driven out of Italy and forced to surrender all claims on Italian territories. It is the kind of large sword the flamboyant Swiss mercenaries serving the French would have used in that battle. The decorative parts are steel and the pommel is pinned on. The guard has a ring on one side for increased hand protection. The long wooden grip is covered in leather and the tempered high carbon steel blade has two short fullers at the front and is diamond in cross section for the rest of its length. Scabbard included. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts® Circa 1525.
