Surely nothing was quite as impressive as a large man carrying a large two-hand sword! This classic Swiss / German style weapon was invented to enable the brawniest troops to break pikes. But, the sword was so awe-inspiring that soon it was used by guards in processions, and quickly was adopted for personal combat. Many of the blades had flamberge, or wavy type blades, which made the sword look even more impressive. This particular type of flamberge blade actually increased the force of the blow. By making the curves more rounded the force of a blow would be directed to a smaller area, increasing the bite of the sword. This blade was very difficult to make, but the skilled smiths at Windlass Steelcrafts® have done a spectacular job on this functional sword . Blade, pommel and guard are made from high carbon steel. Grip is wood with metal studs.
