This Stiletto replicates a late 17th century piececurrently held by a private collector. The Stiletto was designed exclusively as a thrusting weapon, with it's triangular blade rarly being sharpened. The stiletto was widespread in the period when upper-class civilian dress often incorporated mail or leather body armour. The triangular 10-1/2 " blade is complemented by a spiral grip, with the pommel and guard finials in a traditional cone pattern. This piece measures 16 3/4 " overall and is intricately detailed from the pommel to the tip of its scabbard.
