Achilles is the typical heroic subject of Greek mythology. He was persuaded to join the battle when his friend Patroclus was killed in the Trojan War. Achilles was the son of Peleus and Thetis who tried to make her son immortal by dipping him into the River Styx, holding him by his ankle, which is therefore the only portion of him, capable of sustaining a mortal wound. Doomed by a mortal heel, the tragic Achilles was larger than life. This piece is constructed completeley with stainless steel with a balde length of 8 1/2" and an overall length of 14". The Achilles dagger is also highlighted with brass toned inlays throughout the handle and scabbard.
