Used from the 12th thru the 18th century, the buckler or small shield 6 to 18 inches in diameter achieved a deserved reputation as both a defensive and offensive arm. Indispensable in both classical rapier play and I.33 sparring, it has become an essential part of the modern swordsman`s equipment.This GDFB "Sparring-friendly" version of the Talhoffer buckler is flat, with fluting for strength and a reinforcfed rim. Construction is in 16ga. Steel.
