Shrewsbury Sword
"In value for the money, the sword is excellent. It may not be the very best, but it is certainly an acceptable blade at a very reasonable price." rated 5 / 5 - read more..
During the height of plate armor, this narrow, sharply pointed sword was one of the most successful in finding a vulnerable area in the armor or punching through it. This properly tempered long carbon steel blade is double-edged and finely tapered. Possessing enough breadth to cut, the Shrewsbury is also strongly pointed for the thrust. Steel pommel is fig-shaped and faceted. The Shrewsbury Sword, named after the battlefield where Prince Hal (later Henry V) defeated Percy Hotspur, is noted for the cross-shaped cutouts in the guard. This fine functional sword was for a movie project in Europe, which was shelved but featured in a later movie title of "Soldier of God". We are happy to pass this savings on to you. Includes leather scabbard. Blade Length: 33 3/8"" Overall Length: 42 1/4"" Blade Material: High Carbon Steel Weight: 2 lbs. 12 oz
