The Naginata is a weapon found throughout history, utilized and refined from the Nara Period (710-784 A.D.) As with most shafted weapons such as a spear, it was most devastating with sweeping, circular motions. Thrusts with the blade and the butt end were also very effective. This 64" naginata has a 20 3/4" stainless steel blade. The shaft can be broken down to lessen its length for transporting.
