The Scottish Dirk was worn from the mid-19th century onwards. Traditionally, officers of Highland line regiments carried the brass-mounted versions while for officers of militia regiments and pipe majors the silver mounted versions were favored, though there were many exceptions to this rule. The grip is in the customary basket-weave overlapping pattern. The pommel and crossguard have a celtic styled engraving. This piece measures 9 " overall with a 5 3/4 " stainless steel blade | ||||||||||||||||||
